Solar Grey When an eclipse occurs it forms a type of syzygy – the alignment of three or more objects in the same gravitational system along a straight line. The elliptical life paths of the members of Solar Grey (Kris Carpenter – Drums, Eric Crivello – Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals, Chad Hagedorn – Bass, Backing Vocals, Visuals, Engineering, Brian Lemon – Vocals, Jonathan Tretheway – Lead Guitar) convened in a similar manner. The result of the unlikely Solar Grey syzygy was a self-titled E. P. featuring original rock music from Tacoma, WA.

A Dark Matter “The Harvester”- (2001, GreySlade Music) Versatile. In-depth- Delving into the many tiers of song writing the anatomy of music. Chad Hagedorn provides the driving force of the release, however with the influence of John Hargis’s drumming talents, “The Harvester” was shaped, crafted, then birthed. From the opening acoustics of “Epilogue” you have been grabbed and immersed in the musculature of their melodic child. They finish off with a story penned by Allen Koser, who provides the spoken word on the disc, well worth the read. “The Harvester” is the one addition to any musical collection, regardless of taste or preference. –Gub Fook
An indication of how enjoyable the listening experience is (The Harvester), is that each song seems to be just too short, but if fact they are all the right length. My favorite song is Thoughts Theme with its lectronic critters and crystalline tones that give it a definite cosmic aura. Stand is another strong song with reverbed guitars; you can just smell the incense burning. Other interesting songs are March of the Harvester with its quote of Amazing Grace and The Seduction. Atmospheric at times and rocking at others, I found the overall listening experience to be rewarding. –Aural Innovations
